The overall theme for the conference is 'Ancient Knowledge, Contemporary Innovation' and concurrent sessions will cover the following sub-themes:'
Sessions encompassing this sub-theme will showcase the impact of recent natural disasters on coastal environs. Highlighting planning and management utilised to mitigate intense impact of natural occurrences and learning from experience
This sub-theme will provide a showcase that is happening along the coast, involving examples of people and communities developing and maintaining partnerships to achieve common outcomes.
Sessions will provide the latest research and management practices to the attendees that will inform of new techniques regarding the preservation and protection of coastal environs.
The aim for these sessions is to provide attendees with information regarding latest and upcoming programs/policies regarding coastal environs.
Sessions will provide a forum that give participants a chance to hear opinions from their peers regarding the future of coastal and marine environs.
